Fermentation strategies for improving the production of bacteriocin‐like inhibitory substances by <i>Lactobacillus brevis</i> C23 with nutrient supplementation, pH, and temperature variations

In this study, fermentation strategies were carried out for improving the production of bacteriocin-like inhibitory substances by Lactobacillus brevis C23 with nutrient supplementation, pH, and temperature variations, as well fed-batch cultivation. The BLIS activity was highest (91.52%) in MRS medium supplemented 1.5% (w/v) lactose 1% meat extract. pH 5 augmented both cell biomass activity, but incubation only affected growth at 37°C. Fed-batch cultivation strategy that utilized extract feeding would positively affect growth, whereas enhanced feeding. from L. obtained 24 hr mark culture (77.73%). fed followed a similar trend to (74.20%). Increased final solution reduce downstream step such concentrating purified product. Novelty impact statement Synergic effect CFS compared control (69.29%) Temperature 40℃ did not it inhibited growth.
